I’m a writer living in Manhattan, and the editor of Museum Books. (Prior to this, Museum was a contemporary art and fashion magazine. I was at its helm for half a decade.)

In 2021, I edited Out in the World with Gaetano Pesce, a new book on the seminal Italian designer, architect and “Pope of gloop.”

I write features, essays and criticism for a lot of publications—including Vogue, Architectural Digest, Harper’s Bazaar, Frieze, The Paris Review, and Interview—about art, visual oddities, and the aesthetics of mass culture in America. I once spent a year dining at Planet Hollywood.

From time to time (rather a lot right now), I consult for advertising agencies as an editorial director, concepting new brands or reinventing old ones. I’ve written and edited books and magazines for major brands too.

I have a degree in journalism from the University of Sydney, where I double-majored in art history and theory, and political economy.
